FAQs

Abbra Carpet Cleaning & Restoration

  • What type of cleaning method do you use?

For residential and commercial carpet and upholstery cleaning, we utilize a truck-mounted hot water extraction system. This steam cleaning method provides powerful cleaning combined with effective extraction capabilities.
  • How long will it take my carpets & upholstery to dry?

We recommend keeping pets, children, and regular foot traffic off cleaned surfaces for at least 4 hours. While carpets and upholstery will feel relatively dry to the touch after cleaning, complete drying typically takes several hours. Drying time varies based on carpet type, extent of soiling, temperature, and humidity levels.
  • What type of chemicals do you use? Are they safe?

Our cleaning products are non-toxic with a mild fragrance. These solutions are safe for use around children and pets.
  • What types of stains can you remove?

We use commercial-grade products designed to remove or significantly reduce various challenging stains, including soda, wine, coffee, juice, and blood. We also have specialized expertise in treating pet urine and feces stains.
  • Can you eliminate urine odor and musty smells?

Yes, we can eliminate these odors. The level of difficulty depends on the severity of the odor. Some particularly intense odors may require more extensive treatment for complete removal.
  • How often should I have my carpet cleaned?

Most carpets benefit from professional cleaning at least once a year to maintain a clean, healthy environment. In residential settings—especially homes with children, pets, or allergy sensitivities—more frequent cleanings may be needed to keep carpets fresh and hygienic. In commercial spaces, regular service is equally important, with high-traffic areas often requiring more frequent cleanings to preserve appearance and extend the life of the carpet.
  • How can I keep my carpet looking nice?

Regular vacuuming is essential for carpet maintenance. Increase vacuuming frequency during periods when dirt and debris are tracked inside. Consistent vacuuming prevents matting and stops particles from settling deep into carpet fibers.
  • What types of carpets do you clean?

We clean all carpet fiber types, including olefin, nylon, blends, and wool. Note that wool requires a specialized cleaning process. We also clean berber, which refers to a weaving style rather than a specific fiber type.
  • What types of area rugs do you clean?

We clean oriental rugs, wool rugs, braided rugs (both sides), and most other area rug types in all sizes, including runners. For optimal results, we recommend having area rugs cleaned at our shop facility.
  • Will you move my furniture?

We move and clean under sofas, loveseats, and easy chairs. After cleaning, we place foam blocks or plastic tabs under furniture legs, which should remain in place for 24 hours. For liability reasons, we do not move larger or heavier items such as entertainment centers, bookcases, pianos, china hutches, beds, chest of drawers, or dressers.
